Owning an apartment building can be a very stressful task as you have to be ready for whatever can happen. With that being said, as seasons change, you get to let go of some worries, but others become a problem. In this blog, we will discuss one of the biggest problems of the summer season, microbial growth, and how you can prevent it from growing.

  •  Monitoring the Indoor Humidity Levels

Various reasons can cause a spike in humidity levels in your home, which needs to be monitored daily to prevent microbial growth. You can purchase a hygrometer, a relatively inexpensive device that can read the internal humidity level. If it's 60% or higher, there is a good chance of growth.

  • Create a Ventilation System By Opening Windows

When you open the windows, you are actually helping the outdoor air monitor the humidity levels inside. You must create ventilation because air can only hold a limited amount of water vapor, which can cause water to bead up the wall if not regulated.

  • Use Exhaust Fans

Let me introduce you to a little friend of mine, the exhaust fans. These fans are critical to eliminating new water vapor into your home’s air. By turning on the fans, you are directing where this vapor should go instead of sticking to the walls causing the perfect conditions for growth.
